I am a little bit in love with the left-hand house in this picture. It was for sale a few months back (haha) and it's been empty for a while now. It looks like it ought to be lived in.

The tree in front of it is pretty amazing, too, and the leaves on the tips of all of its branches are turning a brilliant yellow.

I know, I know - another cat picture. I forgot my camera today, so by the time I remembered to take a picture, Chuck was the only model I had. No excuse, I know. Don't worry - tomorrow there will be pictures of leaves, or something.

Chuck actually likes this, believe it or not. And my ears are actually not blurry in real life.

I think it might be a long quarter, in that whirlwind, oh-god-there-aren't-enough-hours-in-the-day-no-time-to-breathe sort of way.

Back in Portland, by the way, so no more concert photos or pictures of San Franciscan bikes adorned with flowers for the moment.

A San Francisco bike (as opposed to a Portland bike - please note the unsuitability of the flowers to the daily commute, as opposed to the discreet plastic animal, as seen here). On a brief break between viewing Billy Bragg and Neko Case on Day Three of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

I am music festivaled out.

Day 45

Old 97's on the Towers of Gold Stage on Day 2 of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (though it was the first day we went). Pretty awesome, though they were better when Matt and I saw them at Wonder Ballroom in Portland. Okkervil River, who played right before the Old 97's, and were also fantastic.

I am looking forward to seeing Billy Bragg and Neko Case tomorrow!

Day 44

Made my first ring today (though to be fair, my dad did most of the hard bits, like soldering the double-twist onto the bezel and sizing it when I'd made the shank too short) and I only hurt myself once (with the bezel-pusher).
